Freedom to Read week raises awareness about censorship in Canada (it doesn’t just happen south of the border). Part of the planned events is a bookcrossing: release a banned book from your shelves, insert a Freedom to Read bookplate and set it loose on your town or city. There is a list of banned books here. (There’s a Star Wars book on that list. Maybe I can talk the boys into getting rid of it that junk setting the book free.)

I got this poster at the store and did a banned books display in our window. My boss told me that this weekend (I wasn’t there) a couple came into store just because of that display. I think our freedom to read is important, and apparently others do, too!
Fabulous!
