Pictorial Dictionary

I’ve had my eye on these stamps of images from Webster’s Pictorial Dictionary for a while.  I know that they would collect dust along with all my other ink and pen and stampy things that I don’t have (or make) time to use, but what beautiful dust-catchers they would be….

The story of Chronicle Books’ Pictorial Webster’s is an interesting one.  Bookmaker Johnny Carrera took the old engraved plates used to illustrate Wester’s dictionaries in the 19th century and refurbished them to make this book.  The stamp set is your chance to play with them.
