- Junot Diaz: “Eventually everything I have gets read. But naturally I buy more than I can read, so there is always at least a hundred-book margin between what I own and what I’ve read. What’s cool is that I’ve caught up a couple of times, and this year I intend to catch up again. But then I’ll buy too much and the race starts again.”
Thank you, Amy Lavender Harris.
Yes! I’m not the only one! I feel like such an outcast when people post their TBR piles and it’s, like, 3 books. Mine encompasses an entire bookcase! Not to mention everything I want to re-read. 🙂 Love it!
Isn’t it great?! I also have an entire, bulging bookcase with my tbr books. It’s in constant flux, which feels refreshing and wonderful. So much excitement goes into putting books on that shelf: friends’ and other readers’ enthusiastic recommendations, my collector’s impulse to read everything by a writer I love, the joy of coming home with a bag full of new books. I love taking a book off of that shelf. There is even satisfaction in starting a book, not enjoying it, and being able to shelve it elsewhere. Not for me, not now, on to the next one. Thanks for commenting. I love your music.
